Alpine Electric
Owners: George and Edith Ponce
“The SBDC has helped us move forward and keep our doors open.”
Like many small business owners George and Edith Ponce scrambled to find ways to keep their doors open, staff working and projects moving as COVID-19 short-circuited the community. The pandemic forced Alpine Electric to discontinue many projects. After a Stay-at-Home order was issued, George and Edith had to send many of their employees home. The bustling operation was now dim.
Since Alpine Electric was considered an essential business and allowed to operate. George and Edith contacted SBDC Business Advisor Maribel Flores for assistance with SBA disaster relief funding. The Ponce’s received funding one week after submitting the loan applications, allowing them to put all their electricians back to work.
Alpine Electric has been able to rebuild operations, regain revenue and recover from a crisis that continues to flicker.
